10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting as a QHHT Practitioner

When I started as a practitioner, I thought the challenge would be the technique. Learning the script. Saying the right words. Guiding the session “correctly.”
But after doing real sessions, I realized something very different:
👉 This work isn’t about getting it perfect.
👉 It’s about holding the experience.
Here are 10 things I learned the hard way.

1. You Can’t Do As Many Sessions As You Think
In the beginning, I thought:
“Dolores said no more than 1 session a day… so I can do 5–7 a week.”
Reality?
After about 10 sessions, I realized:
👉 1–2 sessions per week is ideal (max 3)
This work takes a lot out of you:
mentally
emotionally
energetically
Now I always leave at least one rest day between sessions.
2. The Interview Is Everything

My first session?
I barely did an interview because it was my partner. Big mistake.
She was:
very left-brained
not visual
not prepared for the experience
And I wasn’t prepared for that.
After that, I went deep into:
blogs
practitioner posts
videos
I discovered 6 key things that completely changed my sessions.
👉 When I applied them, my sessions became dramatically more effective.
(If you want those 6 things, message me 👍)
3. Your Level Doesn’t Matter (But Your Presence Does)
I’ve had people come to me after sessions with very experienced practitioners saying:
“I felt rushed”
“It felt like it was about money”
“The space wasn’t relaxing”
“I couldn’t understand them clearly”
“They’ve never even been hypnotized themselves”
👉 Level doesn’t equal experience.
What matters is:
how you hold space
how present you are
how safe the client feels
4. Slow Down (More Than You Think)

I wouldn’t have fully understood this if I hadn’t been hypnotized myself.
Early on, I was moving too fast. Clients felt:
rushed
pressured
stuck
When I slowed down from the very beginning:
👉 Clients naturally went deeper
👉 Visualization improved
👉 The experience felt smoother
5. Audio Can Make or Break the Session

From my earlier days creating YouTube content, one thing became very clear:
👉 50% of video is audio.
In hypnosis?
👉 It’s closer to 90%.
Clients often speak softly… sometimes even whisper. If you don’t capture that clearly, you lose one of the most valuable parts of the session.
I’ve seen setups that don’t work well:
recording from far away
using poor microphones
placing devices awkwardly
What works:
👉 Capture both voices clearly
👉 Ideally with two microphones
👉 Always have a backup recording
I’ve had sessions where my main recording failed… and my backup saved everything.
6. You Will Need to Improvise
No two sessions are the same.
You will face moments like:
someone seeing nothing
unexpected experiences
things that don’t make sense at first
The first time someone told me they were… seaweed in a past life… I didn’t know how to react.
But it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and meaningful experiences for them.
👉 Stay present.
👉 Stay curious.
👉 Don’t judge the experience.
7. This Work Takes More Out of You Than You Expect
Even though you’re sitting the whole time, this work is intense.
You are:
preparing before the session
actively listening during the interview
guiding during hypnosis
holding space the entire time
What helped me:
light stretching between phases
small snack if needed
not over-drinking fluids
having a proper breakfast (or intentional fasting)
8. Small Details Matter More Than You Think
Clients under hypnosis are highly sensitive.
They can:
hear everything
feel your energy
notice small distractions
Even flipping paper can affect the experience.
I now:
use thick sheet protectors
minimize noise
move more intentionally
9. You Don’t Need a Perfect Setup
I used to think:
👉 Sessions must be in a perfect room.
Then I heard someone had a powerful session… in a car.
At first, I thought: “that’s not ideal…”
But when I tried it:
👉 It worked.
Key things:
quiet environment
minimal distractions
comfort (eye mask, blanket if needed)
small movement break between interview and hypnosis
👉 It’s not about the space.
👉 It’s about the state you create.
10. This Path Isn’t for Everyone
This might be the hardest truth:
👉 Many practitioners won’t continue.
Not because they can’t… but because:
they don’t practice enough
they lose confidence
they can’t find clients
they get discouraged
Or simply…
👉 they don’t develop the ability to hold the experience properly.
This work requires:
patience
consistency
adaptability
Final Thoughts
If you’re starting out, you don’t need to be perfect.
You need to:
stay curious
keep learning
keep showing up
Because over time…
👉 you stop trying to “do it right”
👉 and start learning how to hold the experience

Additional Insights on Spiritual Healing
As I reflect on my journey, I recognize the profound impact of spiritual healing. This process is not just about the techniques we use; it’s about the connection we foster with our clients. Each session is a unique opportunity to explore deeper layers of consciousness and emotional healing.
The Importance of Trust in the Healing Process
Building trust is essential. It allows clients to feel safe and open during their sessions. When they trust the process, they can dive deeper into their experiences. This trust creates a nurturing environment where healing can truly flourish.
Embracing Vulnerability
Vulnerability is a powerful aspect of healing. It’s okay for both the practitioner and the client to feel vulnerable. Acknowledging this can lead to breakthroughs and profound insights. Embracing vulnerability allows for a more authentic connection.
The Role of Intuition
Intuition plays a significant role in guiding sessions. Trusting your instincts can lead to unexpected yet transformative experiences. It’s essential to remain open to whatever arises during a session, allowing the healing process to unfold naturally.
Continuing Your Journey
Remember, the journey of healing is ongoing. Each session offers new lessons and insights. Embrace the process, and allow yourself to grow alongside your clients. Together, you can explore the depths of healing and transformation.
In conclusion, this work is about more than just techniques. It’s about connection, trust, and the willingness to explore the unknown. As I continue on this path, I am reminded of the beauty of holding space for others.
If you are interested in exploring this journey further, I invite you to connect with me. Together, we can embark on a path of healing and discovery.
